Having a Fling With Your Business?

Have you ever thought, “Hey I could make money doing this?” You know what? You are probably right, yet a lot of people trying to make money doing something they love are really having a fling, sometimes a Big, Expensive Fling!

They may not want to admit it and there may be all types of excuses but right now there are countless people who believe they are business owners who are really babysitting a glorified hobby.

I don’t mean that to sound cynical or pessimistic but let’s look at the facts.

Just around 56% of all businesses are still profitable after 4 years!

Now, I don’t think that means you have a 50/50 chance of success at your business. I think it means you have a 50/50 chance of deciding whether you want to have a fling or a true commitment.

Creating a business, even for just a side income, means you must commit to growing it and taking care of its needs, just like you would any relationship.

You can have a fling, no strings attached, no long term dedication, no significant obligation and that’s all well and good if that is what you want, but you cannot expect a fling to offer you security, stability or any real guarantee of it being there for you another day.
